Beijing and the northern Chinese city of Zhangjiakou are bidding for the 2022 Winter Olympics.

The Chinese Olympic Committee sent a formal nomination letter to the International Olympic Committee last Sunday and the bid is supported by the Chinese government,China's official news agency Xinhua reported this week.

"The bid to host the 2022 Winter Olympics will further improve the development of the Chinese Olympic cause,display the prehensive power of China and push forward the coordinated development of the economies of the o cities," the mittee said in a statement.

At the Olympic Winter Games, curling consists of o events: a women's tournament and a men's tournament. Each tournament starts with 10 curling teams. Two teams play against each other at a time. The game is played on ice, and the o teams take turns pushing 19.1-kilogram stones towards a series of concentric rings or circles. The object is to get the stones as close to the centre of the rings as possible.One game consists of 10 “ends” (similar to innings in baseball). During each end, each four-person team “throws” (in fact, slides along the ice) eight stones — o stones per person and 16 altogether. Team members sweep the ice clean in front of each stone to control the stone's direction, known as its “curl,” and the stone's speed. The team with the most points — more stones closer to the centre of the rings — at the conclusion of 10 ends, is the winner.

比赛结束了，通过跳大绳比赛，我终于懂得“失败是成功之母”蕴藏的含义：并不是每个人成功前都要失败，成功的主要原因是长期多次练习；失败的主要原因是没有吸取教训。
